Nardia Robertson, head designer and founder of Caravan & Co, embarked on an inspirational design journey to meet with the beautiful manufacturers and developers that work behind the scenes for Caravan & Co. Marked by visits to museums, explorations of architecture, and indulgence in vibrant street food flavours, the highlight was (and we are sure will always be) the fact that Caravan & Co is bought to life by talented and kind people.

Our recent trip was the catalyst we needed to move keep pressing forward in a positive direction. From the inspiration of architecture & food, to the colours and fabrication. We noticed the rich collaboration of bold hues, paired back with grounded neutrals, as well as the prominence of enduring quality in wools and cotton twill. Silk showcased strongly, and the manufacturing ran in a highly impressive manner, which will encourage us to keep using this best selling practice in our Lightness of Being Collection. As mentioned, our highlight were the people who help us create our Caravan & Co collections. Each team member, supervisor, craftsperson and operator we met were not only happy and supported in their workplace, but were kind and creative. The exact type of person we love to design for.

Other areas we found interesting were what we wore while travelling, and what pieces of our own are practical and still stylish. The Claremont Tote Bag was a daily favourite due to its size and durability, as well as our silk cotton signature styles for breathability in the more humid climates.
