As the final print for our Fall Winter 2025 Collection is released, we thought it would be the perfect moment to lift the curtain on the creative journey that brings our signature prints to life. At Caravan & Co, prints are an integral part of our identity—and they’re a big reason our community loves what we do. Each season, we release 2-3 unique prints that capture the attention of stores across Australia and New Zealand.
The process begins with Nardia, the designer behind all of Caravan & Co’s collections, immersing herself in colour theory. First, she examines the forecasted trends for the season ahead, and then compares those to the colours that resonate with our market and loyal customers. This blend of forward-thinking and staying true to what we know works for our community sets the foundation for what’s to come.
From there, inspiration is gathered from a range of sources. It might be a striking magazine clipping, Fashion Shows, a beautiful Pinterest image, or even a snapshot of nature taken during a walk with Zelda, our beloved office dog. These moments spark new ideas, which Nardia then begins to translate into sketches—tiny seedlings of the prints that will eventually take shape.
Once a broader vision and inspiration have been established, the real magic begins. Nardia works tirelessly to bring these initial concepts to life, using digital tools to refine, rework, and evolve the designs. The process is intense and meticulous—hours turn into days, days turn into weeks, and yes, even months (we’re not exaggerating here). It’s all part of the journey to ensure that every print not only complements our seasonal designs but also feels authentic to the spirit of Caravan & Co.
The work doesn’t stop until every design feels just right and the prints work with our fabrication choices. Once our print has reached a place Nardia is happy with, we work with our manufacturers and their labs to dye a sample of the print in our fabrications - whether its a silk cotton blend, or a viscose georgette. The results are then scrutinised and adjustments are made accordingly before it is given the go ahead and our pieces can be finalised.
