Q&A: A CHAT WITH NARDIA ON HER FAVOURITE LOOKS FROM AW20

Q&A: A CHAT WITH NARDIA ON HER FAVOURITE LOOKS FROM AW20

As founder of Caravan + Co, Nardia designs each collection to embrace both the present and the past. Drawing on inspiration from her extensive vintage collection and a passion for fabrics and colour Nardia combines these elements with the ethos of the brand being a timeless aesthetic with an elevated bohemian sensibility. We spoke with Nardia about her latest collection, and she shares with us some of her favourite pieces.

What was your process behind developing the Autumn/Winter 2020 Collection?

The Caravan + Co Autumn/Winter 2020 Collection was created firstly by developing a mood/theme for the season. I always start with a mood this consolidates my ideas for the coming season through image, including colour, fabrics/textures, key decorative elements and of course the key silhouettes for the season.

From there I begin to teased out my ideas into working drawings including styles. trim, fabrication etc. Selecting fabrics is an important element to any design and this is integral to creating a beautiful item that you will want to wear again and again.

What keeps the concept clear as you progress through to the completion of a collection?

Overarching all design decision’s is my customer, understanding who they are, what they love and their aspirations are always front of mind from the development stage to the final range.

What are some of your favourite looks from the Autumn/Winter 2020 Collection?

My favourite looks for the season would be:

1. The Bhey printed shirt worked back with either the Claudette Tiered skirt or the Joplin velvet pant. And a belt to finish the look.

2. The Theodore velvet military Jacket worked back with the French tulle layered skirt worn with a lace up boot for the strong statement look.

3. The Bronte dress worn loose with a ballet flat for a soft romantic fall.

We hope you love the Autumn/Winter 2020 collection.
